The Vulnerability of Being Seen

To be seen is to be vulnerable.  Yet vulnerability does not entail weakness.  It is the willingness to allow others to witness you despite the belief in being rejected for what they might see.  This type of vulnerability, in fact, is not vulnerable at all.  It is neither fragile nor brittle, yet it is delicate - a delicate dance of delicate strength to proclaim, "Here I am.  Here is all of me.  And I love myself enough to share all of who I am with you because I love you, too".

Vulnerability takes courage - the courage to continue loving yourself regardless of what others may think, and the courage to still send them love when you are not received.
